Your health information is never sold to advertisers, data brokers, or anyone else. Ever.

Export anytime

Download all your data whenever you want. It's yours to keep, share, or take elsewhere.

Delete completely

Request deletion and we'll remove everything. No "we keep it for 7 years" fine print.

The code is public. You can see exactly how your data is handled.

Privacy Policy

What we collect

When you use Annie's Journal, we store:

  • Voice recordings — Your check-in recordings, stored temporarily for transcription
  • Transcripts — The text version of what you said
  • Extracted symptoms — Symptoms, severity, timing, and other health details we identify
  • Account info — Email address if you create an account (optional)

Voice recordings are processed for transcription and then deleted. We don't keep audio files long-term.

How we use your data

Your data is used to:

  • Show you your symptom history and patterns
  • Generate appointment summaries
  • Improve symptom recognition accuracy (anonymized, aggregated data only)

We do not use your data for advertising. We do not share it with third parties for marketing.

Third-party services

We use a small number of services to run Annie's Journal:

  • Transcription services — To convert your voice recordings to text
  • AI processing — To identify symptoms and patterns from transcripts
  • Hosting infrastructure — To store and serve your data securely

These services are selected for their privacy practices and are bound by data processing agreements.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Access — See all the data we have about you
  • Export — Download your data in a portable format
  • Delete — Request complete deletion of your account and data
  • Correct — Fix any inaccurate information

Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and at rest. However, no system is perfectly secure. We're committed to transparency if any security incident occurs.

If we make significant changes to how we handle your data, we'll notify you through the app and update this page. The date at the bottom shows when this policy was last updated.
